By using Best Version you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

What Best Version is

Best Version is a lifestyle companion: it suggests daily habits across sleep, food, movement, relaxation, connection and substances, based on what you tell it. It offers recipes, breathing exercises, planning tools and reflection.

It is not a medical device, not medical advice and not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian, therapist or emergency service. Its suggestions are general wellbeing guidance drawn from lifestyle-medicine education. Always seek professional advice for a medical condition, pregnancy, an eating disorder, or before changing medication, and do not ignore professional advice because of something in this app.

It is intended for healthy adults as a lifestyle companion. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, monitor or prevent any disease, and it is not a medical device.

If you feel unwell

If you feel unsafe or are in a medical emergency, contact emergency services (in Switzerland: 144, or 143 for Die Dargebotene Hand). The app cannot detect emergencies and does not monitor you.

Your responsibility

You decide what to do with the suggestions. Listen to your body and stop any activity that hurts. Nutrition targets shown in the app are planning numbers, not prescriptions, and every recipe is offered as an idea, not an instruction.

You are responsible for the device you use the app on and for keeping your account password to yourself. Foods and weights read from a photo are estimates; check them before saving.

The cycle phase shown, if you switch that feature on, is a calendar estimate from the dates you enter. It is not a contraceptive method and not fertility, pregnancy or medical advice.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to create an account. Sign-up asks you to confirm this. Accounts are offered to people living in Switzerland or Liechtenstein; sign-up asks where you live. Everyone else can browse the ideas without an account.

Best Version is used with an account — one account per person, holding one profile. Keep the password to yourself, and tell us at hello@bestversion.ch if you think someone else has used it. You can change the password, sign out other devices, and reset a forgotten password by e-mail from inside the app. What an account stores, where, and how to delete it is described in the privacy notice; creating one asks for your separate, explicit consent to that.

You are responsible for the devices you sign in on. Signing out clears the app's copy of your entries on that device.

An account that has not been signed in to for 24 months may be closed: you are warned by e-mail at least 30 days before, and if you do not sign in by then the account and everything in it are deleted.

Your content

Everything you write or enter remains yours, and the operator claims no rights over it. The operator stores it, encrypted, only to provide the service to you, and does not use it for anything else.

The operator's content

The recipes, texts, illustrations and the app itself are the operator's work, protected by copyright. You may use them personally and share individual recipes with friends. You may not copy the app, resell its content or present it as your own.

The voice that guides workouts, recipes and relaxations is a synthetic rendering of the operator's own voice, produced with her consent. It speaks fixed texts written for the app; it does not generate advice on its own.

Plus

Some features are part of Plus. Plus is offered to customers with a billing address in Switzerland and, in the iPhone app, on the Swiss App Store; the free version is available to everyone. The price, the billing period and what is included are shown before you subscribe, in Swiss francs including VAT. Every new account starts with a seven-day free trial, without a payment method; nothing is charged unless you subscribe.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. A subscription bought on bestversion.ch is cancelled in the app under Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's customer portal. A subscription bought in the iPhone app is cancelled on the iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions; the app's Manage button takes you there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and no further amount is charged. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.

One free trial per person. A promotional price applies to the first period only; afterwards the standard price shown at the time of purchase applies. One offer code per account, and codes cannot be combined.

Because Plus is a digital service that starts immediately, there is no refund for a period already started, except where the law requires one or where the service was unavailable through the operator's fault, in which case the operator refunds the unused part. For a subscription bought in the App Store, Apple is the seller: billing, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, and a refund is requested from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).

Payment is processed by Stripe on bestversion.ch and by Apple in the iPhone app; by subscribing you also accept the payment service's terms. One Plus subscription is enough for every device you sign in to, whichever way it was bought. Prices may change for future periods; you will be told at least 30 days in advance, by e-mail for a Stripe subscription and by Apple for an App Store subscription, and may cancel before the change applies.

Availability and changes

The app is provided as it is. The operator works to keep it available and free of errors but cannot promise either, and may change, pause or discontinue features. If the app were ever discontinued, you would be told in advance and given time to download everything, and the server copy would then be deleted.

Acceptable use

Use the app for yourself. You may not copy, scrape or download its content in bulk, reverse-engineer it, access it with automated tools, interfere with its servers, use it to harm or harass anyone, or resell access to it. Sharing a recipe, a day card or a challenge invite with a friend through the app's own share buttons is of course fine.

Closing an account

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Privacy & data. The operator may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you by e-mail and giving you time to download your data, or immediately where the account is used to abuse the service or other people. A closed account is deleted as described in the privacy notice; a Plus subscription bought on bestversion.ch ends with it, and one bought from Apple must be cancelled with Apple.

Links, sharing and other people

The app links to places, websites and Instagram that belong to others; the operator is not responsible for their content or their terms. What you share or send as an invite leaves the app and reaches whoever you send it to, under that service's rules; an invite link carries your first name and the challenge you chose.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damage arising from use of the app, in particular from health decisions taken on the basis of its suggestions. Liability for intent and gross negligence, and any liability that cannot be excluded by law, remains.

Law and disputes

Swiss law applies. Place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.

If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force. The operator may transfer these terms to a successor who continues the service under the same conditions; you would be told in advance.

These terms, the privacy notice, the security page and the data page are published in German, English, French and Italian. The German version in Swiss spelling is the binding one; the other languages are provided for convenience and are read in the light of the German text.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change, for example when a feature is added or the law changes. A change that matters is shown to you in the app once, with the new version and date, and asked to be accepted before you continue; a change that only clarifies wording is published without that step. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the app and delete your account; nothing more is charged for a Stripe subscription, and an Apple subscription is cancelled with Apple.
